Ansu Fati is leaving Barcelona on a permanent basis after the Spanish club reached an agreement with Monaco for the forward’s transfer.
Barcelona announced the deal without disclosing the financial terms. The club said it will keep a percentage of any future sale, leaving it with a stake in a later move if Monaco eventually transfers Fati elsewhere.
The 23-year-old had already been with Monaco on loan during the 2025-26 season, and the new agreement turns that temporary spell in French football into a full exit from Barcelona.
Fati’s first-team record at Barcelona closes at 123 appearances and 29 goals. He had been part of the club since joining its youth teams at age 10 in 2012, before reaching the senior side as a 16-year-old in the 2019-20 season.
His early rise made him one of Barcelona’s most closely watched young players. In 2019, Fati became one of the youngest players to score in the Spanish league for the club, and he also previously held the record as Spain’s youngest scorer.
Before his loan to Monaco, Fati also featured for Brighton in the second half of the 2023-24 season. Those moves followed a Barcelona breakthrough that began at unusual speed but ended with the forward continuing his career away from the Blaugrana.
Barcelona publicly thanked Ansu Fati for his commitment, dedication and contribution during his time with the club, and wished him well for the future on and off the field.
