Barcelona beats Osasuna 2-1, on verge of clinching La Liga title

BARCELONA, Spain — Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres scored late goals in Barcelona's 2-1 win at Osasuna on Saturday, putting Hansi Flick's side on the brink of clinching the La Liga title.

Barcelona opened a 14-point gap over Real Madrid with four rounds remaining. Real Madrid must win at Espanyol on Sunday to prevent Barcelona from securing a second straight league crown.

A victory by Madrid would prolong the title fight another week, with Barcelona hosting Madrid in a clasico at Camp Nou.

Late drama

Substitute Marcus Rashford found Robert Lewandowski's run and delivered a cross for the striker to head in powerfully in the 81st minute.

Ferran Torres added a second goal five minutes later, and Raúl García pulled one back for Osasuna in the 89th minute.

"We have put the pressure on Madrid," Torres said. "For me I just want to be champions as soon as possible. That way we can start celebrating."

Barcelona goalkeeper Joan García made two key saves in the first half to keep it scoreless. Osasuna striker Ante Budimir also struck the post before halftime.

This was only the third loss for 10th-placed Osasuna at home in the league this campaign.

Atletico wins before Arsenal showdown

Atletico Madrid rested most of its starters but still earned a 2-0 win at Valencia ahead of their Champions League semifinal against Arsenal.

Nine youth team players were called up by Diego Simeone, with Iker Luque and Miguel Cubo scoring in the 73rd and 82nd minute at Mestalla Stadium.

Julián Álvarez, Alexander Sorloth and Giuliano Simeone, all carrying knocks from Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Arsenal, were rested for this league match.

Atletico travels to London for the second leg of their Champions League semifinal on Tuesday.

The game at Valencia was Simeone's 1,000th as a coach, with 795 of those games at Atletico since 2011.

Villarreal secures Champions League spot

Villarreal guaranteed a top-four finish and a Champions League berth for a second straight season after routing Levante 5-1.

Georges Mikautadze scored a double for third-placed Villarreal.
