Vitinha Ruled Out Until End of Week With Heel Injury for PSG

PARIS — Paris Saint-Germain will be without Vitinha until at least the end of the week after the Portugal midfielder limped off with a right heel injury during the 2-1 loss to Lyon at the weekend.

PSG confirmed the injury is inflammation in his right heel, sustained in the match. "Vitinha will undergo treatment over the next few days. A further assessment will be carried out at the end of the week," the club said.

The timing is inconvenient given PSG's fixture congestion. Despite the loss, PSG remain top of the Ligue 1 standings, one point ahead of Lens with a game in hand — though that game in hand is a makeup visit to Lens scheduled for May, originally postponed from April 11 when PSG were still in the Champions League.

PSG's next league matches are at home against Nantes on Wednesday and away at Angers on Saturday.
