The USMNT’s World Cup round of 16 match against Belgium at Lumen Field in Seattle arrives with Folarin Balogun available after a highly publicized red card reversal that has been connected to the White House.
The match carries rare knockout stakes for the Stars and Stripes. Making the round of 16 has been familiar territory for the USMNT, but the team has gone beyond that stage only once, reaching the quarterfinals at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea.
Despite the attention around the team and Balogun’s status, prices have fallen on FIFA’s official resale platform in the hours before the match. The lowest listed Category 1 ticket is now $1,943, while the cheapest Category 2 seat is $1,322. Both are nearly $1,000 below last week’s prices, before the USMNT beat Bosnia and Herzegovina and advanced.
Category 3 has also moved down, with the lowest ticket listed at $1,495, more than $500 cheaper than last week. At the high end, Front Category 1 and Category 2 tickets are listed at $11,500, a major drop from last week’s top listing of $57,500 for a Category 3 seat.
Ticket movement across the 2026 World Cup has not followed one pattern. Some prices have climbed shortly before kickoff, while others have dropped as resellers try to move seats that were often purchased at much lower prices.
Availability remains tight for the USMNT match, with 170 tickets left on StubHub. The team’s run, combined with the wider attention around Balogun’s reversal, has made the game one of the most closely watched events of the tournament.
The winner of USMNT vs. Belgium will advance to a July 10 quarterfinal at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles against Portugal or Spain. If the USMNT advances again, the Stars and Stripes would move on to Dallas for a semifinal against France or Morocco.
