USMNT Captain Tim Ream, Berhalter Named to 2026 MLS All-Star Roster

Two U.S. men's national team stars were selected for the 2026 MLS All-Star game in Charlotte, N.C., headlining the first eleven players unveiled for the match. Charlotte FC defender Tim Ream, the USMNT captain, and Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder Sebastian Berhalter were both named to the roster.

The All-Star game will take place at Bank of America Stadium, with a skills competition scheduled for July 28 followed by the showcase game on July 29. Dean Smith, manager of Charlotte FC, will lead the MLS All-Stars against the best from Liga MX.

The list looks clean on paper; the hard part is everything that happens after it is printed.

The final squad will feature 26 players, with only the first eleven unveiled this week. The roster selection process includes fan votes, 13 coach picks from Smith and two picks from MLS commissioner Don Garber.

Should any selected player, including Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi, opt to miss the event, they will be suspended for their club's next MLS match. The 2026 MLS All-Stars previaled 3–1 over Liga MX last season in Austin and won the skills challenge.
