The Tennessee Titans and defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons reached agreement on a multi-year contract extension, the NFL team announced Friday.
Pro Football Rumors, citing NFL.com reporters Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, reported that the deal is a three-year extension worth $105.8 million with $100 million guaranteed. At more than $35 million per year, the contract moves Simmons to the top of the defensive tackle market by average annual value.
Titans Keep Simmons In Nashville
The Titans did not disclose financial terms in their announcement, but framed Simmons as the player they needed to keep at the center of new head coach Robert Saleh's defense. General manager Mike Borgonzi called Simmons a franchise pillar and said Tennessee wanted to keep its best players.
Simmons also gave the team a public confirmation of the long-term tie, saying Tennessee had become a second home and that his job with the organization was not finished.
The extension is Simmons' third NFL contract. He was selected by Tennessee in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft and also received an extension during the 2023 offseason.
All-Pro Season Raised The Price
Simmons is coming off a 2025 season in which the Titans credited him with a career-high 11 sacks, 60 quarterback pressures, 67 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles. The team said he broke Jurrell Casey's Titans-era record for sacks in a season by a defensive tackle.
The official team release also noted that Simmons was named first-team All-Pro in 2025 after second-team selections in 2021 and 2022. He is a four-time Pro Bowl selection and a five-time team captain.
Across seven NFL seasons, the Titans list Simmons with 383 tackles, 42.5 sacks, 275 quarterback pressures and 65 tackles for loss. The new deal keeps that production tied to Tennessee as Saleh builds his first Titans defense around a holdover rather than another imported piece.
