Kamaldeen Sulemana carried Atalanta’s strong recent run at Juventus a little further, scoring a solo goal in a 1-1 Serie A draw in Juventus MILAN.
Sulemana struck just before halftime, breaking the match open with an individual run and finish. The 23-year-old forward, who joined Atalanta from Southampton, has now scored in consecutive matches after also producing a goal and an assist in the 3-0 win at Torino.
Juventus drew level in the 78th minute through Juan Cabal after a scramble in the box. Odilon Kossounou could not clear the danger, and Cabal reacted quickly to control the loose ball and score from close range.
It was only the Colombian defender’s second career goal and his first since 2022.
Atalanta had to protect the result with 10 men after Marten de Roon was sent off two minutes later for a second yellow card following a foul on Weston McKennie. Juventus pushed hard from there, but Marco Carnesecchi kept Atalanta level with late saves, including stops against McKennie from point-blank range and Edon Zhegrova.
Elsewhere in Serie A, Lautaro Martínez returned to Inter’s starting lineup and helped set up a 2-0 win at Cagliari. After missing the Champions League victory over Ajax and playing 26 minutes against Sassuolo, the Argentine World winner headed in Alessandro Bastoni’s cross in the ninth minute.
Cagliari nearly equalized in the 73rd minute when Michael Folorunsho’s header hit the base of the upright. Instead, Inter doubled the lead nine minutes later as Pio Esposito turned Federico Dimarco’s low cross into the bottom right corner for his first Serie A goal. His older brother, Sebastiano, plays for Cagliari.
Cremonese also remained unbeaten, drawing 1-1 at Como. Federico Baschirotto headed in a 69th-minute corner to cancel out Nico Paz’s first-half opener, while Como forward Jesús Rodríguez was sent off eight minutes from time after video review spotted an off-the-ball punch and kick at Filippo Terracciano.
