New Orleans Saints edge rusher Cameron Jordan has signed a one-year contract with the NFL team, a deal the club says is likely to carry him into his final season.
The Saints announced the agreement after Jordan, an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career, returned to the franchise that drafted him in the first round in 2011.
Jordan Set For 16th Saints Season
New Orleans said the 2026 season will be Jordan's 16th in the NFL. The team article, published June 16, said he finished last season tied with Drew Brees at 15 years with the franchise and will become the longest-tenured player in Saints history.
Jordan described the coming year as a final-season approach, saying he would treat every game as his last. The Saints also cited his long-running attachment to New Orleans, with Jordan saying that loyalty has always been part of how he viewed his career.
The one-year agreement keeps the Saints' all-time sacks leader in a defense that also has Chase Young, Carl Granderson and Tyree Wilson in its edge group. New Orleans did not announce financial terms in the official article.
Saints Keep Their Sack Leader
Jordan enters the new deal with 132 sacks, 17 forced fumbles, 12 fumble recoveries, 248 quarterback hits, three interceptions and 67 pass breakups in 243 regular-season games, according to the Saints. The team listed his 242 starts and 243 games as franchise records.
The official NFL player page also lists Jordan as active with the New Orleans Saints, adding a league-source check on his roster status after the signing.
For New Orleans, the move is less about a long-term depth-chart bet than keeping a franchise marker in place for one more season. Jordan has been a constant through several Saints roster cycles, and his return gives the team another veteran option while its younger pass rushers continue to settle in.
