Schalke have signed former Germany winger Robin Gosens on loan from Fiorentina after securing promotion back to the Bundesliga last season.
The 32-year-old's agreement can become a permanent transfer if specified conditions are met. Kicker reported that Schalke must remain in the top division and Gosens must reach an agreed appearance target.
Schalke sporting director Youri Mulder said the club was adding an experienced leader whose commitment and mentality had been demonstrated at club and international level.
Gosens has made 24 appearances for Germany, most recently in 2025. He joined Fiorentina from Union Berlin in 2024.
The left-sided player previously represented Inter Milan and Atalanta after beginning his senior career in the Netherlands with Vitesse Arnhem and Heracles Almelo.
Gosens can operate as a left back or winger. That flexibility gives Schalke an experienced option across the left side as the club prepares for its Bundesliga return.
