Rams OL Alaric Jackson arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence

The Game Turned Late

The Rams offensive lineman was taken into custody Monday night in Los Angeles after police responded to a call at his residence just after 11 p.m., authorities confirmed.

According to NBC4 in L.A., Jackson became agitated during an altercation with a woman at his house, allegedly believing she was using a cell phone to record him. He attempted to take the phone away. By the time officers arrived, the woman had visible scratch marks on her arms.

The numbers are doing most of the announcement work here, which is usually how teams prefer it.

The charge under review involves willfully inflicting physical or corporal injury resulting in a "traumatic condition" on an intimate partner, per the Los Angeles Times. Jackson spent nearly three hours in jail before being released on a $50,000 bond at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday.

The Small Details Added Up

"We are aware of the incident regarding Alaric Jackson, and we take these matters very seriously," the Rams said in a statement. "Due to this being an ongoing legal situation, we cannot comment further at this time."

This is not Jackson's first legal entanglement. The 27-year-old was suspended for the first two games of the 2024 season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, stemming from allegations he recorded a woman during sex without her consent. The woman filed a lawsuit against him in November; it was dismissed in federal court in April.

Jackson, an undrafted free agent who has spent his entire career in Los Angeles, is the team's starting left tackle and opened 19 games last season—16 in the regular season and three in the playoffs. He won a Super Bowl with the Rams during his rookie year in 2021 and secured a starting role in 2022. The team rewarded him with a three-year, $57 million extension in February 2025, shortly after his suspension concluded.

The Table Looks Different

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office is currently reviewing the case for potential charges.
