Champion Paris Saint-Germain recovered from two goals down to draw 3-3 with Strasbourg in Paris, denying Liam Rosenior’s side a landmark Ligue 1 win and keeping PSG at the top of the table.
Strasbourg were chasing a first league victory in 34 games in Paris, but PSG struck early through Bradley Barcola. The forward finished after combining with Désiré Doué, who had returned from injury and was facing his elder brother Guéla.
The match soon turned into an open contest. Guéla supplied the cross for Joaquin Panichelli to equalize with a powerful header, and Strasbourg then went in front before the interval after a mistake from Désiré Doué. His misplaced pass led to Valentin Barco finding Diego Moreira, whose scooped ball set up the finish past the surprised goalkeeper.
Panichelli remained central to Strasbourg’s best work after the break. His strength in a duel helped create the visitors’ third, with Moreira crossing for the Argentine forward to score again.
PSG increased the pressure as the second half developed and found a route back through another key Doué involvement. Désiré Doué was brought down in the box by Mike Penders, and Gonzalo Ramos converted the penalty to cut Strasbourg’s lead to one.
The equalizer came late through Senny Mayulu. Penders parried the 19-year-old’s first effort, but Mayulu reacted quickest and headed in the rebound to make it 3-3.
The point left PSG on 17 points at the top of Ligue 1, one ahead of Strasbourg after a match in which the visitors came close to ending their long wait for a league win in Paris.
