The official date range matters because it sets the working calendar for every men's Premier League club. Clubs can announce agreements, but registration timing and the window close still define when squads are settled for the first part of the season.
The Premier League lists the closing time as 23:00 BST on September 1. That gives clubs a little more than 11 weeks from the June 15 opening to complete permanent transfers, loans and other registration moves.
The league's page also carries an important note on released players: players marked as released will have their contracts expire on June 30, 2026, but they could still remain with the same club if a new contract is agreed.
