The New York Mets moved Francisco Lindor and Tyrone Taylor to Triple-A Syracuse on rehab assignments, MLB's official transaction log listed, giving the club another step in the return process for two injured regulars.
The Mets' transaction page recorded both Syracuse assignments on June 21. The same official log listed Lindor and Taylor as assigned to Double-A Binghamton for rehab on June 19, so the Syracuse move marks a quick progression in their minor league work.
Lindor And Taylor Move Up To Syracuse
Amazin' Avenue reported Lindor had been placed on the injured list with a right calf strain, while Taylor had been sidelined by a left hip flexor strain. The official transaction log does not provide a major league return date for either player.
That is the useful boundary on the update. Rehab assignments are encouraging, but they are not activations. The Mets have moved both players one level closer while still keeping them outside the active MLB roster.
Lindor is the larger roster piece because of his everyday role at shortstop and place near the top of the Mets' lineup. Taylor's path matters as well, giving New York another outfield option if his rehab progresses cleanly.
Mets Get A Roster Step, Not A Return Date
The timing gives the Mets a concrete checkpoint after both players started rehab work in Binghamton. Syracuse games can give the club a higher-level read before deciding whether either player is ready to be activated.
For now, the verified move is narrow: Lindor and Taylor are with Syracuse on rehab assignments after beginning the process with Binghamton. Any activation, lineup role or timetable still has to come from the Mets later.
