Bayern Munich scored three second-half goals to ensure they continued their 100 per cent Bundesliga record with a 3-0 victory over 10-man Borussia Monchengladbach.
Vincent Kompany’s side were made to work for their eight successive league victory but broke the resistance of a resilient Monchengladbach side with three goals in the space of 17 minutes in the second period.
Jens Castrop was given his marching orders which forced Monchengladbach to play 72 minutes with 10 men, and they were looking to nick an unlikely point until Joshua Kimmich broke the deadlock with his first goal of the campaign.

Monchengladbach’s task was made harder when they were reduced to 10 men in the 18th minute.
Castrop was late into a challenge on Diaz and was initially given a yellow card but referee Sascha Stegemann was sent to the VAR screen and upgraded the card to a red.
The hosts still made life difficult for the league leaders, they shared most of the possession but were only able to register four attempts as the half drew to a close.
But Bayern almost got the breakthrough three minutes before the break, Harry Kane has been in devastating form in front of goal but he scuffed an effort towards goal which Moritz Nicolas was equal to.
Back came Bayern after the interval, this time Michael Olise collected a ball from the left and his effort beat Nicolas but Kevin Diks heroically cleared off the line.
