BERLIN — Harry Kane came off the bench at the hour mark and still scored three times as Bayern Munich beat Stuttgart 5-0 in the Bundesliga.
The hat trick lifted Kane to 28 goals for Bayern this season, and 33 for club and country after five more with England. Bayern Munich remained unbeaten in 16 league and cup matches against German opposition this season.
Konrad Laimer opened the scoring while Kane was still among the substitutes. The Austria midfielder controlled a long ball, combined with Michael Olise and beat Alexander Nübel with a close-range backheel in the 11th minute.
Kane made it 2-0 with a low finish into the bottom corner before Josip Stanišić added Bayern’s third. Stuttgart had earlier pushed for a way back, but Midfielder Nikolas Nartey had a potential equalizer ruled out for offside after a VAR check.
Lorenz Assignon was sent off in the 81st minute after using his arm to clear the ball, and Kane converted the penalty. He completed the rout two minutes from time, flicking in a cross from Olise for what the Bundesliga said was his 10th league hat trick.
“It's been a while, it's nice to get another one,” Kane said after being voted man of the match. “Big three points. We keep going.”
Leipzig kept pressure near the top with a 6-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt 6, led by a hat trick from 19-year-old Yan Diomandé. The Ivory Coast winger, Renowned for his dribbling and reportedly drawing interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, was applauded off when Samba Konaté replaced him in the 87th minute.
Conrad Harder, Christoph Baumgartner and David Raum also scored for Leipzig, which finished with six goals from seven shots on target.
Bayer Leverkusen lost for the fourth time, falling 2-0 at Augsburg. Dimitrios Giannoulis scored after six minutes and then set up Anton Kade, leaving Leverkusen in fourth place, 14 points behind Bayern.
Wolfsburg moved four points clear of the relegation zone with a 3-1 win over Union Berlin 3 after scoring with every shot it put on target. Heidenheim beat Freiburg 2-1, while Cologne and St. Pauli drew 1-1.
