Juventus are reviewing Damien Comolli's position as CEO, with meetings underway in Turin after the Serie A club missed out on qualification for the 2026-27 Champions League, according to reports cited by Football Italia.
Juventus Hold Comolli Meetings In Turin
Football Italia reported that Sky Sport Italia and other Italian sources say talks are taking place over Comolli's future after one season in the Bianconeri role. The timing is notable because Juventus had previously been expected to avoid changes to their senior management structure.
Comolli and head coach Luciano Spalletti spoke with owner John Elkann after the 2025-26 season, and earlier reports suggested continuity was likely despite the club's failure to reach next season's Champions League. That continuity now appears less certain.
Spalletti Transfer Influence Adds Context
Reports toward the end of May said Spalletti had asked for more influence over Juventus transfer decisions. The club were said to be willing to give him those guarantees, although that was not initially expected to mean Comolli would leave.
The more likely reading at the time was that Comolli and Spalletti would need to work together more closely. Juventus, never a club short of internal weather, have now moved that conversation back into the meeting room.
Juventus Summer Plans Already Underway
Sky also reported that Comolli, sporting director Marco Ottolini and technical director Francois Modesto have had a busy few days working on potential summer transfers and departures. Football Italia noted that all three had been operating with the expectation that they would continue into the 2026-27 season.
No final decision has been reported, and further updates are expected. For Juventus, the review matters because any shift at CEO level would land directly in the middle of the club's transfer planning and Spalletti's push for greater control over the squad build.
