The Game Turned Late
MILAN — Inter Milan moved within touching distance of the Serie A title on Sunday, but the Nerazzurri made life unnecessarily complicated by surrendering a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw at Torino. The result leaves Inter 10 points clear of Napoli with four rounds left.
Marcus Thuram headed Inter ahead in the 23rd minute, meeting a pinpoint cross from Federico Dimarco. That assist was Dimarco's 17th of the season — a new Serie A single-season record for a defender. The 28-year-old added another in the second half, delivering a corner that Yann Bisseck nodded in off the inside of the far post.
The trophy did not need much decoration; the season had already done most of the talking.
The Small Details Added Up
Inter looked comfortable until Giovanni Simeone pulled one back for Torino in the 70th minute with a cleverly chipped finish. Nine minutes later, Nikola Vlasic converted a penalty after Carlos Augusto handled Duvan Zapata's header, sealing the draw.
Elsewhere, AC Milan was held to a 0-0 draw by Juventus, leaving the city rivals 12 points behind Inter. Christian Pulisic's goalless stretch reached 16 matches — his longest barren run since a similar span with Chelsea in the 2022-23 Premier League season.
The Table Looks Different
Como moved to within three points of fourth-placed Juventus in the Champions League race after winning 2-0 at Genoa, with Tasos Douvikas and Assane Diao scoring. Roma also stayed in the hunt after beating Bologna 2-0 on Saturday. Fiorentina and Sassuolo finished 0-0.
