BRIGHTON, England — Bruno Fernandes has broken the record for most assists in a single Premier League campaign, moving onto 21 after setting up Patrick Dorgu for United's opening goal against Brighton on Sunday.
The tally snapped a three-way tie at 20 that included Arsenal great Thierry Henry from the 2002-03 season and Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne from 2019-20.
The record did not need much decoration; it already did the talking.
Fernandes was voted footballer of the year in England by soccer writers two weeks ago.
