Federico Dimarco nets stunning free kick after receiving Serie

The Result Carries Weight

MILAN — Inter Milan midfielder Federico Dimarco celebrated his Serie A MVP award by scoring against Bologna, but the Nerazzurri had to settle for a 3-3 draw in their final match of the season at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

The title was already secured. So was the Italian Cup. That left the opening goal — a stunning 25-yard free kick into the top right corner — as the only piece of business worth watching.

The matchup already has enough history; the job is to keep the reading list shorter than the tension.

Dimarco received his award just before kickoff and nearly immediately reminded everyone exactly why he'd won it.

The Moment That Swung It

Federico Bernardeschi leveled three minutes later. Bolognia took the lead shortly before halftime when Tommaso Pobega's volley took a double deflection and found the net.

Inter midfielder Piotr Zieliński turned a cross into his own net early in the second half, giving Bologna what appeared to be a firm grip on the result. But Pio Esposito tapped in a rebound in the 64th minute after Andy Diouf's effort bounced off the post, pulling Inter back within one. Diouf then capped his own afternoon by scoring in the 86th.

Across the city, Pedro gave Lazio a proper farewell. The 38-year-old winger scored the winning goal in a 2-1 comeback against already-relegated Pisa — his final act after five years with the club.

The Race Tightens

Pedro won a World Cup with Spain in 2010 and a European Championship two years later, collecting Barcelona, Chelsea and Roma along the way. Lazio players wore a special commemorative patch on their shirts for his last dance.

Pisa took an early lead through Stefano Moreo. Lazio answered with two goals in as many minutes from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Pedro, flipping the script entirely.

Most of the final round of Serie A takes place Sunday night, with four teams battling for the final two Champions League places and two teams fighting against relegation. Inter, meanwhile, simply wrapped up a season they'd already won — and let Dimarco take his bow in the process.
