Como Wins Third Straight Serie A Match Thanks to De Cunha's Screamer at Cagliari

The Result Carries Weight

ROME — Como picked up a 2-1 road victory at Cagliari on Saturday, extending their winning streak to three matches in Serie A. Midfielder Lucas de Cunha provided the decisive moment, curling a strike from outside the area into the far post in the 76th minute to seal the win.

Martin Baturina had given Como an early lead, stabbing in a scrappy goal during the 14th minute. Sebastian Esposito pulled Cagliari level in the 56th, but de Cunha's effort restored the lead and kept Como in fifth place, level on points with fourth-placed Roma.

The scoreboard made the point with less ceremony than everyone around it.

The Moment That Swung It

The result leaves Como with only one loss across their last 11 matches in all competitions. Earlier this week, they played Inter Milan to a scoreless draw in the first leg of their Italian Cup semifinal.

Juventus climbed to sixth in the table after a 4-0 home win over Pisa. Andrea Cambiaso opened the scoring in the 54th minute before Khéphren Thuram, Kenan Yildiz, and Jérémie Boga added goals in the second half.

The Race Tightens

Atalanta salvaged a 2-2 draw at Udinese after falling behind by two. Gianluca Scamacca scored twice in the 75th and 79th minutes to rescue a point for the visitors.
