Como Stays Fifth With Third Straight Win 2-1 at Cagliari

ROME — Como kept its place in Serie A's top five with a 2-1 road win at Cagliari on Saturday, the club's third straight victory and fifth result from its last six league matches.

Martin Baturina put Como ahead in the 14th minute, bundling the ball in from close range after a scramble in the box. Cagliari equalized through Sebastian Esposito in the 56th, but Lucas de Cunha restored the lead with a long-range strike that found the far post in the 76th minute.

The win leaves Como level on points with fourth-placed Roma, whom it faces next weekend. It is a result that makes that upcoming fixture feel less like a test of credentials and more like a definition of them.

Juventus moved to sixth with a 4-0 home victory over Pisa. Andrea Cambiaso opened the scoring in the 54th minute before Khéphren Thuram, Kenan Yildiz and Jérémie Boga added the others in a second half that turned a tight game into a laugher.

Atalanta rescued a point in a 2-2 draw at Udinese. The visitors were two down when Gianluca Scamacca scored twice in the 75th and 79th minutes to pull level.

Como has lost only once in 11 Serie A matches this season.
