Bayern Munich seals Bundesliga title with record 122 goals after Kane hat trick lifts tally to 36

The Part That Changes The Math

Bayern Munich finally lifted the Bundesliga trophy on Saturday, completing a record-breaking season with a 5-1 victory over Cologne. Harry Kane scored his fourth hat trick of the campaign, taking his league tally to 36 goals — five short of Robert Lewandowski's mark from 2020-21.

Tom Bischof and Nicolas Jackson also found the net as Bayern finished with 122 goals, comfortably eclipsing the previous Bundesliga record of 101 set by the 1971-72 team featuring Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Müller. Leon Goretzka, departing after eight seasons, had broken the record with five rounds remaining.

"We have a great group, a great togetherness, and to celebrate success with that is awesome," Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said after his second league title with the club.

The Detail Worth Keeping

The record did not need much decoration; it already did the talking.

Bayern has won every Bundesliga since Borussia Dortmund claimed consecutive titles in 2012, with the sole exception of Bayer Leverkusen's unbeaten domestic season in 2024. French winger Michael Olise, who contributed 15 goals and 22 assists across 32 appearances, was named Bundesliga player of the season.

Vincent Kompany's side wrapped up the title with four rounds to spare but waited until Saturday to get their hands on the trophy. Manuel Neuer, who extended his contract on Friday, passed the trophy to Goretzka to lift it skyward as Queen blared and confetti exploded across the stadium.

Where It Goes From Here

The beer showers followed quickly — anyone who looked even slightly dry became a target. Dayot Upamecano doused Kompany before the coach managed to join his family on the sideline.

"I'd say today it's OK to celebrate a little," Joshua Kimmich said. "Then we have a week and then we'll be fully focused on the cup final."

Bayern faces defending champion Stuttgart in the German Cup final at Berlin's Olympiastadion next Saturday.
