Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has told Real Madrid counterpart Florentino Perez that Michael Olise is not for sale, making the Bundesliga champions' stance public before Madrid can turn transfer ambition into a formal offer.
Bayern Munich Shut Down Michael Olise Talk
ESPN reported that Hainer told Bild that Olise remains a Bayern player on a long-term contract and that Bayern are not a club that sells players. He added that if Perez wanted to send an offer, which Hainer said had not yet happened, he could save himself the trouble.
Olise joined Bayern from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 and is under contract in Munich until June 2029. That matters because Bayern are not describing a price problem; they are describing a locked door, politely enough by football standards.
Real Madrid's EUR150 Million Promise
The Real Madrid angle comes from Perez's recent reelection campaign. ESPN reported that Perez promised to break Madrid's transfer record by spending EUR150 million, about $174 million, to bring a Galactico player to the Bernabeu this summer.
Reports have linked Bayern's French winger with that ambition, but Hainer's comments were designed to lower the temperature quickly. Madrid's interest may be flattering, useful or inevitable, depending on which side of the table is speaking. Bayern's message is that it is not yet actionable.
Olise's Bundesliga Season Strengthens Bayern's Case
Olise, 24, had 15 goals and 21 assists in 32 Bundesliga games as Bayern retained the league title. ESPN also noted that he was named Bundesliga Player of the Season.
His European numbers backed up the domestic form. Olise scored five goals and added seven assists in 13 Champions League games, earning a place in the competition's team of the season.
Olise is now training with France before what is expected to be his first World Cup appearance. France open against Senegal on June 16, which gives Bayern another reason to keep the conversation simple: one of their key attackers is entering a global tournament with a contract through 2029 and a season that made him harder, not easier, to price.
