AC Milan moved to the top of Serie A with a 1-0 win over Lazio, with Rafael Leão scoring early in the second half while Christian Pulisic remained out with a muscle strain.
Leão broke through in the 51st minute, finishing a worked Milan move after Mike Maignan had been forced into several saves by Lazio. The result lifted Milan above Napoli and Roma, with Roma and Napoli still to play each other.
Milan went 1 point clear of Roma and 3 ahead of Napoli. Inter Milan, Bologna and Como sat another point back, keeping the title race tightly packed behind the Rossoneri.
The match ended with a long video review after an Alessio Romagnoli volley struck the arm of Strahinja Pavlovic in the area. Massimiliano Allegri was sent off for dissent after tearing off his jacket, while Lazio’s assistant coach was also dismissed. The referee ruled Pavlovic’s arm had been out but that he had been fouled in the buildup.
Kenan Yildiz continued his strong run for Juventus, scoring twice as Juventus came from behind to beat Cagliari 2-1. Sebastiano Esposito put Cagliari ahead before Yildiz equalized almost immediately after play resumed, combining with Khephren Thuram.
The 20-year-old then struck again in first-half stoppage time, controlling the ball near the edge of the area, driving past two defenders and finishing into the far bottom corner. Yildiz had also been involved in all 3 Juventus goals in a 3-2 win at Bodø/Glimt, a result that ended a run of 3 straight draws in all competitions.
Cagliari remained 14th, 1 point above the relegation zone.
Daniele De Rossi earned his first win in charge of Genoa after 2 draws, as Genoa beat bottom club Hellas Verona 2-1. Genoa moved 1 point above the drop zone, level with Cagliari and Parma.
Parma lost 2-0 at home to Udinese after playing most of the second half with 10 men.
