Scott Parker Departs Burnley After Premier League Relegation Confirmed

Scott Parker has left his role as Burnley coach after relegation was confirmed following defeat to Manchester City. The Premier League club announced the mutual decision on Thursday.

Burnley issued a statement saying: "He leaves with the respect and gratitude of everyone connected with Burnley Football Club."

Parker led Burnley to promotion to the Premier League last season after replacing former manager Vincent Kompany. He previously managed Fulham, Bournemouth and Club Brugge.

"It has been an immense privilege to lead this great club over the past two years. I have enjoyed every moment of our journey together, but feel that now is the right time for both parties to move in a different direction," Parker said.

Burnley, second to last in the 20-team division with just four wins and 22 losses, is now seeking a new coach. Assistant Mike Jackson will serve as interim for the final four league games.

The club was also eliminated from the FA Cup by third-tier Mansfield in February.
