Canadiens Recall Beck, Engstrom, Reinbacher, Xhekaj as Playoff Black Aces

The Montreal Canadiens are getting some reinforcements for the remainder of their postseason run. Owen Beck, Adam Engstrom, David Reinbacher and Florian Xhekaj have all been recalled from the American Hockey League's Laval Rocket.

Black Aces Join Habs

The quartet will serve as the Habs' Black Aces in the playoffs. The Rocket were eliminated by the Toronto Marlies in the North Division semifinals in the AHL playoffs over the weekend.

Player Details

Owen Beck, a 22-year-old forward, scored one goal over 15 games with the Canadiens this season, adding 13 goals and 20 assists in the AHL.

Florian Xhekaj, 21, plays left wing and had 17 goals with 12 assists over 64 games in Laval. He played five games with the Habs this season, his rookie campaign in the NHL.

David Reinbacher, 21, is a defenceman who appeared in two games with the Canadiens in 2025-26. He scored five goals and 19 assists over 57 games in the AHL.

Adam Engstrom, 22, is a defenceman who appeared in 15 games with the Canadiens. He had 10 goals and 24 assists over 45 games in the AHL.

Series Update

Montreal defeated the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday night in Game 3 to take a 2-1 advantage in their second-round series.

Game 4 goes Tuesday in Montreal.
