Toulouse coach Carles Martínez Novell will depart the French club when the Ligue 1 campaign concludes, the team confirmed Wednesday. The Spanish manager leaves after three seasons at the helm, his tenure spanning both coaching and assistant roles.
Tenure marked by cup glory
Martínez Novell arrived at Toulouse initially as an assistant coach, helping the club secure the French Cup in 2023. He was promoted to head coach the following season and has guided the team through three Ligue 1 campaigns. Toulouse currently sits 10th in the standings with three matches remaining.
The title of the job changes quickly; the explanation usually takes a little longer to catch up.
"A big thank you as well to the supporters for their constant support, and to the city for its warm welcome from day one," Martínez Novell said. "I leave with incredible memories that will stay with me forever."
