MILAN — Napoli secured a Champions League berth with a comfortable 3-0 win at already-relegated Pisa on Sunday, with Scott McTominay, Amir Rrahmani and Rasmus Højlund finding the net. Antonio Conte's side will finish in the top four with one round remaining.
The scramble for the two remaining European places involves four clubs sitting tightly packed in the table. AC Milan and Roma both won on Sunday and now sit level on 70 points in third and fourth. Juventus and Como are two points behind them. None of the four can catch Napoli on 73 points.
The matchup already has enough history; the job is to keep the reading list shorter than the tension.
In the final round, Milan travel to Cagliari while Roma host Hellas Verona. Juventus make the short trip to Torino in what promises to be a heated derby, and Como head to Cremonese. All matches will kick off simultaneously, as they did in the penultimate round.
Inter celebrates as the party rolls on
Inter Milan wrapped up the Serie A title with three rounds still to play and marked the occasion with a 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona at San Siro in front of a festive crowd. It was Inter's final home game of the season. The club lifted the trophy after the full-time whistle before embarking on an open-top bus parade through Milan streets. Inter also claimed the Italian Cup last week, securing their first double since 2010.
Milan edges Genoa as Pulisic returns
Christian Pulosic came off the bench to help AC Milan secure a 2-1 victory at Genoa. The U.S. international had missed Milan's previous match with a lower-back issue but returned earlier than expected, entering in the 76th minute with Milan leading 1-0 courtesy of a Christopher Nkunku penalty.
Pulisic made an immediate impact, setting up Zachary Athekame for a goal from outside the area five minutes after coming on. Johan Vásquez pulled one back for Genoa late. Pulisic saw a late opportunity saved and has now gone 18 league matches without scoring since December 28.
Roma wins derby despite post-goal scuffles
Roma claimed the capital derby with a 2-0 win over Lazio, but the afternoon turned ugly. Fights broke out after each goal, with Roma defender Wesley and Lazio midfielder Nicolò Rovella exchanging punches in the second brawl. Both received red cards. Gianluca Mancini headed in both goals from corners.
Elsewhere around Serie A
Juventus suffered a humbling 2-0 home defeat to fierce rivals Fiorentina, drawing loud boos from their own supporters. Meanwhile, Como kept their qualification hopes alive with a 1-0 win over Parma, leaving Cesc Fàbregas' side dreaming of Champions League football just seven years after playing in Italy's fourth division.
In the relegation picture, Cremonese won 1-0 at Udinese but remained a point below safety. Lecce scored deep in stoppage time to snatch a 3-2 victory at Sassuolo and will host Genoa in the final round. Cagliari beat Torino 2-1 to guarantee Serie A survival, while Bologna won 1-0 at Atalanta.
