Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jesús Sánchez was removed from Sunday's game at Camden Yards after being struck by a thrown ball from the stands. The incident happened in the bottom of the sixth inning during a pitching change, and Sánchez immediately exited the game with a right wrist contusion.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider described it post-game as a miscommunication between Sánchez and a young fan who threw the ball from the seating area. X-rays on Sánchez's wrist came back negative.

The Or ioles released a statement confirming the y identified the fan responsible and removed the m from the ballpark. The game concluded 9-5 in favor of Baltimore.
Sánchez, 28, is hitting.287/.324/.461 with six home runs and 11 doubles across 57 games this season. He was acquired in February from the Houston Astros in exchange for Joey Loperfido.
