Brazil rout Panama as Vinícius, Casemiro, four others

Brazil powered past Panama with a commanding 6-2 victory in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, extending their World Cup preparation campaign with an impressive attacking display.

The host nation opened the scoring just two minutes in when Vinícius Júnior struck from outside the box, finding the top corner to give Brazil an early lead.

Panama responded in the 14th minute via Amir Murillo's free kick, which deflected past Matheus Cunha to level the proceedings.

Casemiro restored Brazil's advantage before halftime, heading in a cross from Vinícius Júnior to send the teams into the break with the home side ahead.

Following several halftime substitutions, Bournemouth forward Rayan extended the lead eight minutes into the second half.

Lucas Paquetá then added a fourth on the hour mark before Igor Thiago converted a penalty three minutes later after being fouled by Orlando Mosquera.

Danilo completed the scoring with a strike from Paquetá's through ball, before Carlos Harvey pulled one back late for Panama.

Neymar was not included in the squad as he continues to recover from a calf injury.

Brazil will face Egypt in Cleveland on Saturday in their final warm-up match, before opening their World Cup campaign against Morocco on June 13.
