West Ham's 14-year Premier League stay came to an end on a dramatic final day. Tottenham survived relegation after beating Everton 1-0 at home, finishing two points above their London rivals.
West Ham beat Leeds 3-0 on the final day, but it wasn't enough. Tottenham's victory ensured the Hammers dropped into the Championship.
Guardiola and Salah Bid Farewell
Pep Guardiola's decade-long tenure at Manchester City ended with a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa. He wept on the sideline as Bernardo Silva left the field, receiving a guard of honor from teammates and staff after the match.
Guardiola won six Premier League titles among 17 major trophies during his City spell.
Mohamed Salah also made a tearful exit after his record-breaking spell at Liverpool.
Arsenal Clinch First Title Since 2004
Arsenal secured the Premier League title with a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace. Coach Mikel Arteta and the team wore "Champions 2026" jerseys as they collected the trophy about an hour after fulltime at Selhurst Park.
European Qualification Decided
Bournemouth and Sunderland finished sixth and seventh respectively to qualify for the Europa League.
Sunderland beat Chelsea 2-1 to earn their first European appearance in 53 years—remarkable for a team in its first top-flight season since returning from the third tier in 2022.
Brighton finished eighth to reach the Conference League despite a 3-0 home loss to Manchester United. Bruno Fernandes recorded his 21st assist of the season—a record for the campaign.
Chelsea finished 10th and missed out on European competition completely, 10 months after winning the Club World Cup.
West Ham's Third Relegation
The club's relegations now join 2003 and 2011. West Ham will play home games in the 68,000-capacity Olympic Stadium against Championship sides including Wrexham, Wolves, and Burnley.
"This club deserves to be in the Premier League," said captain Jarrod Bowen, who scored and set up a goal against Leeds. "Our aim now is to get this club back into the Premier League."
De Zerbi Rescues Tottenham
Tottenham hired Roberto De Zerbi in what proved to be an inspired appointment. The club was heading toward relegation before his arrival.
Spurs won three of their last five games under De Zerbi to secure a 49th consecutive top-flight season.
Joao Palhinha scored the winner against Everton in the 43rd minute, converting a rebound after his initial header hit the post. Tottenham defended stoutly to prevent Everton scoring the two goals that would have kept West Ham up.
"After a bad season like this one, we showed up as a collective and had amazing support from the fans," Palhinha said. "The club will grow up with this experience."
