Bayern Munich finally claimed the Bundesliga trophy after setting a new goals record with Harry Kane's hat trick in the final round.
Kane's fourth hat trick of the season lifted his tally to 36 goals—five shy of Robert Lewandowski's league record from 2020-21—as Bayern routed Cologne 5-1. Tom Bischof and Nicolas Jackson also scored.
New Bundesliga Goals Record
Bayern finished with 122 goals, easily surpassing the previous record of 101 set by the 1971-72 Bayern team featuring Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Müller.
Leon Goretzka, departing after eight seasons, scored the record-breaking goal with five rounds remaining in the campaign.
"We have a great group, a great togetherness, and to celebrate success with that is awesome," Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said after his second league title with the club.
Bundesliga Player of the Season
French winger Michael Olise recorded 15 goals and 22 assists across 32 appearances, earning Bundesliga Player of the Season honors.
Trophy Celebration
Vincent Kompany's side wrapped up the title with four rounds to spare but waited until Saturday to lift the "salad bowl" trophy.
Captain Manuel Neuer, who signed a one-year extension on Friday, handed the trophy to Goretzka to hoist skyward as confetti erupted. Queen classic "We Are The Champions" blared across the stadium.
The traditional beer showers followed as players doused each other, including Bayern defender Dayot Kompany before the soaked coach joined his family.
"I'd say today it's OK to celebrate a little," midfielder Joshua Kimmich said. "Then we have a week and then we'll be fully focused on the cup final."
German Cup Final Ahead
Bayern faces defending champion Stuttgart in the German Cup final at Berlin's Olympiastadion next Saturday.
