The Western Conference Finals will be decided on Saturday night as the Knicks await their NBA Finals opponent.
The Western Conference Finals are heading to Game 7. The Thunder and Spurs will meet up Saturday night in Oklahoma City with a spot in the NBA Finals against the Knicks on the line. The Spurs forced Game 7 with a Game 6 win on Thursday night, pulling away from the reigning champion Thunder with a big third quarter. Victor Wembanyama, who struggled in Game 5 of the series, scored 28 points in Game 6.
In the East, the Knicks are in the NBA Finals for the first time this century after finishing a sweep of the Cavaliers on Monday night by winning their 11th straight game and clinching the Eastern Conference crown for the first time since 1999. The Knicks have been shockingly dominant since Game 4 of their first-round series against the Hawks, and they are getting more than a week off before the Finals tip on June 3.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won his second straight MVP award last week, and now he'll try to lead the Thunder to their second straight title. No NBA team has won back-to-back championships since the Warriors in 2017-18.
The Suns, Trail Blazers, Hawks, Nuggets, Rockets, Celtics, Magic and Raptors were all eliminated in the first round. The 76ers, Lakers, Timberwolves and Pistons all bowed out in the second round.
