PSG extends Ligue 1 lead to 4 points after Lens falls to Lille

Lille secured a commanding 3-0 victory over northern rivals Lens in the Derby du Nord on Saturday, temporarily halting the match due to discriminatory chanting.

The game was stopped in the 35th minute when the referee threatened to send players back to the dressing room after insulting chants directed at Lens fans.

Haukon Haraldsson gave Lille the lead just before halftime, finishing a swift counterattack initiated by captain Aissa Mandi's long pass. Fernandez-Pardo slipped the ball between two defenders to set up the unmarked Haraldsson at the far post.

A costly mix-up led to Lille's second goal in the 50th minute. Goalkeeper Robin Risser failed to reach the ball after Matthieu Udol's poor back pass was intercepted by Nidal Celik, allowing Felix Correia to score into an empty net.

Lens was awarded a penalty when Ismailo Ganiou handled the ball in the box. Fernandez-Pardo converted from the spot to seal Lille's victory.

Strasbourg extends unbeaten run to 10 matches

Without top scorer Joaquin Panichelli, Strasbourg defeated Nice 3-1 to extend its unbeaten run to 10 matches across all competitions.

Panichelli tore his right ACL during training with Argentina last week and underwent surgery on Thursday. He will miss the World Cup and possibly the start of next season. The striker leads the French league with 16 goals.

In his absence, winger Martial Godo and Samir El-Mourabet stepped up for eighth-placed Strasbourg. Godo struck the crossbar after 24 minutes before breaking the deadlock with a header into the far corner.

Midfielders Julio Enciso and El-Mourabet added goals before halftime, with El-Mourabet scoring a stunning half-volley from outside the box. After dribbling past the Nice goalkeeper to make it 2-0, Enciso celebrated wearing a Panichelli jersey.

Captain Emanuel Emegha, joining Chelsea next season, returned from a four-month injury layoff in the 77th minute. Defender Antoine Mendy pulled one back for Nice in the 82nd, marking their 15th defeat.

Strasbourg and Nice will meet again in the French Cup semifinals on April 22.

Rennes wins 7-goal thriller in Brittany

Rennes edged Brest 4-3 in a spectacular encounter to rise to sixth place, just three points behind Lille.

Esteban Lepaul scored twice from the penalty spot, including the winning goal in the 74th minute. Junior Dina Ebimbe also scored twice for Brest in the losing effort.

Goalkeeper Gregoire Coudert dove the correct way but couldn't stop Lepaul's decisive penalty.
