Cody Freeman has been reinstated from the injured list and assigned to Triple-A Round Rock, the team announced Thursday.
The 26-year-old infielder had been sidelined since spring training with a lower-back fracture, but he began playing in rehabilitation games on May 14.
Freeman appeared in nine games across the Arizona Complex League, Double-A Northwest Arkansas, and Triple-A Round Rock during his rehab assignment, posting a .161/.194/.194 slash line with five RBI and eight runs scored.
Now that he's received a clean bill of health, Freeman will remain with Round Rock and will need to improve offensively before the Rangers consider adding him to their major-league roster.
