The Thunder are one win away from an NBA Finals showdown with the Knicks. Oklahoma City took down the Spurs 127-114 in Tuesday night's Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals to take a 3-2 series lead.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 32 points for the Thunder while Alex Caruso pitched in 22 and Jared McCain scored 20 in his first career postseason start. Victor Wembanyama was limited to 20 points on just 4 of 15 shooting in the loss.
In the East, the Knicks are in the NBA Finals for the first time this century after finishing a sweep of the Cavaliers on Monday night by winning their 11th straight game and clinching the Eastern Conference crown for the first time since 1999.
The Knicks have been shockingly dominant since Game 4 of their first-round series against the Hawks, and they will now have more than a week off before the Finals tip on June 3.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won his second straight MVP award last week, and now he'll try to lead the Thunder to their second straight title. No NBA team has won back-to-back championships since the Warriors in 2017-18.
