United States manager Mauricio Pochettino says he's open to returning to Tottenham Hotspur once his tenure with the USMNT concludes this summer.
"Yes, why not?" Pochettino told FourFourTwo. "If the right conditions are there, of course. Tottenham feels like home to my family. We identify with the club's idiosyncrasies, values and supporters."
The 54-year-old Argentine spent five-plus seasons at Spurs from 2014 to 2019, leading the club to the 2019 Champions League Final—Spurs' first European final in 35 years. After previously managing at Espanyol and Southampton, he went on to manage at Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.
"Right now it's about enjoying the World Cup," Pochettino said. "After that, I've always said I came so close to winning the Premier League and Champions League, and want to try again. I'd like to be part of a project with the ambition of winning both."
Spurs in Crisis Mode: Tottenham currently sits 18th in the Premier League table with five matches remaining, trailing West Ham by two points for the final safe spot. The club faces the prospect of relegation from the top flight for the first time in 49 years after appointing former Brighton and Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi earlier this month.
World Cup Context: The USMNT is appearing in its second straight World Cup and 12th overall. They will compete in Group D alongside Paraguay, Australia and Turkey, with their first match set for June 12 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
