Canada Goalkeepers Crépeau, St. Clair to Play 45 Minutes Each vs Uzbekistan

As preparations continue for Canada ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, goalkeepers Maxime Crépeau and Dayne St. Clair will both see action in Monday's international friendly against Uzbekistan.

Coach's Plan

Head coach Jesse Marsch says that each goalkeeper will play 45 minutes at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton.

Canada will then have one more friendly against Ireland in Montreal on June 5, before opening the FIFA World Cup against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto on June 12.

Recent Performances

Both goalkeepers last saw action for Canada during their March friendlies.

St. Clair started in Canada's 2-2 draw against Iceland on March 28, while Crépeau was in goal for the scoreless draw with Tunisia on March 31.

Roster Announcement

Canada will name their official FIFA World Cup roster on Friday at 7pm ET/4pm PT on TSN, CTV, Crave, and RDS.

St. Clair and Crépeau are joined by Owen Goodman as the three goalkeepers in Canada's training camp currently taking place in Charlotte.

Buchanan Update

Tajon Buchanan will be available to play for Canada against Uzbekistan after a successful appeal following the red card he received against Iceland on March 28.

Buchanan was sent off in the 80th minute of Canada's 2-2 draw with Iceland for dangerous conduct, which can result in a three-game suspension.

Canada successfully appealed and the 27-year-old was given a one-game ban, which he already served by missing the March 31 friendly against Tunisia.

Buchanan has eight goals and seven assists in 58 appearances with Canada's men's national team.
