Garcia helped fuel Washington's offensive explosion by doubling in his first plate appearance before launching a two-run homer in the second inning to give the Nationals a commanding early lead. The long ball was his fourth of the season.
Entering Monday, Garcia had been batting just .216 with two RBI over his previous 12 games. He's now slashing .268/.292/.427 with 10 doubles, 27 RBI, 20 runs scored and two stolen bases across 171 plate appearances.

James Wood went 4-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored. He led off the game with a 412-foot homer as part of the Nationals' five-homer barrage. Wood has reached base safely in 10 of his last 11 games while batting .395 (17-for-43).
Curtis Mead went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI. After Wood opened with a leadoff homer, Mead followed with a two-run shot. He added another solo homer in the fifth inning — his first career multi-homer game — giving him six and seven home runs on the season.
