Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Keeps rolling Thursday

May 8, 2026 | Rotowire

Jeffers went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, a walk and two additional runs scored in Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Nationals.

Jeffers continues to be a bright spot offensively for the last-place Twins in 2026. The 28-year-old backstop totaled a season-high eight bases Thursday, turning in his third three-hit game of the year.

Through 163 plate appearances, Jeffers is slashing a potent .302/.409/.531 with five home runs, five doubles, 22 RBI and 21 runs scored.

Twins' Simeon Woods Richardson: Can't find rhythm Thursday

May 8, 2026 | Rotowire

Woods Richardson didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Nationals, allowing five runs on four hits and two walks in 4.1 innings. He struck out two.

Washington catcher Keibert Ruiz had Woods Richardson's number, plating three runs on a pair of doubles versus the hurler.

It's been a struggle in 2026 so far for Woods Richardson, who has surrendered at least four runs in five of his last six starts while fanning three or fewer each time out during that period.

Still winless on the campaign, the right-hander will bring a 6.92 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 19:16 K:BB over 39 innings into his next scheduled start versus Miami.

Twins' John Klein: Returning to Triple-A

May 7, 2026 | Rotowire

The Twins optioned Klein to Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The move comes in order to make room for Yoendrys Gomez, who was acquired by the Twins from the Rays on Wednesday.

Klein made one appearance up with the big club on Saturday, in which he tossed a perfect inning against the Blue Jays.
