MANCHESTER, England — Manchester City closed the gap on Arsenal at the top of the Premier League to just two points with a dominant 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.
Antoine Semenyo opened the scoring after 32 minutes, finishing from close range after Phil Foden's clever backheel created the opening. Omar Marmoush doubled City's lead eight minutes later, again set up by Foden. Savinho added the third in the 84th minute.
Title Race Not Over Yet
With two rounds of the season remaining, Arsenal must wait at least another week to be confirmed champions. Mikel Arteta's side plays relegated Burnley on Monday, and a victory would leave City needing to beat Bournemouth 24 hours later to force a final-day decider.
"We've seen a lot of things can happen on the final day," City forward Phil Foden told Sky Sports. "I've experienced it many times when the game doesn't go your way, so we just have to keep pushing and doing our part."
Guardiola Targets Seventh Title
The size of City's win proved significant as they moved ahead of Arsenal on goal difference. Despite making six changes—including resting Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki and Jeremy Doku—Pep Guardiola's side secured a comfortable victory.
City faces Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday before returning to league action against Bournemouth.
"Unfortunately it's not in our hands," Guardiola said. "It's not easy, but it's important that we are there. This group of players are all extraordinary."
