Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche and Mark Stone of the Vegas Golden Knights will both sit out Game 2 of the Western Conference Final due to injuries.
Makar's Injury Status
The Avs announced their star defenseman continues to be sidelined by an upper-body injury. He missed Game 1 with the injury as Colorado dropped the opener of the series 4-2 to Vegas.
Makar took part in the Avs' optional skate on Thursday and skated Friday morning before he was ruled out. He was injured in Game 5 of the second round against the Minnesota Wild, leaving the contest holding his right arm after a collision late in the game, but returned as the Avs won the series in overtime.
Stone's Injury Status
Mark Stone will miss his fifth straight game with a lower-body injury. He has not played since Game 3 of the second round against the Anaheim Ducks on May 8, when he left and did not return.
Stone was at the Golden Knights' gameday skate on Friday but is evidently not ready to draw back in.

He also helped Canada earn Olympic silver at Milano Cortina 2026 and was a key cog in the Avalanche winning the Stanley Cup in 2022, taking home the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.
Stone's Season Stats
