Bayern Munich secured the Bundesliga title in commanding fashion, setting a new league record with 122 goals across the season.
Record-Breaking Victory
In the final round, Bayern defeated Cologne 5-1, with Harry Kane scoring a hat trick—his fourth of the season. Kane's tally reached 36 goals, placing him just five shy of Robert Lewandowski's league record from 2020-21.
Tom Bischof and Nicolas Jackson also found the net for Bayern.
Bayern finished with 122 goals, eclipsing the previous Bundesliga record of 101 set by the 1971-72 Bayern team featuring Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Müller.
Historic Moment for Goretzka
Leon Goretzka, departing after eight seasons, scored the record-breaking goal with five rounds remaining.
"We have a great group, a great togetherness, and to celebrate success with that is awesome," Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said.
Bundesliga Dominance Continues
Except for Bayer Leverkusen's remarkable unbeaten domestic season in 2024, Bayern has won every Bundesliga title since Borussia Dortmund's back-to-back wins in 2012.
French winger Michael Olise, who contributed 15 goals and 22 assists across 32 appearances, was named Bundesliga player of the season.
Title Celebration
Vincent Kompany's side clinched the title with four rounds to spare but had to wait until Saturday to lift the trophy.
Captain Manuel Neuer, who extended his contract by another year on Friday, presented the trophy to Goretzka to hoist skyward. Confetti exploded as Queen's "We Are The Champions" blared throughout the stadium.
The traditional beer showers followed, with giant pitchers brought onto the field. Bayern defender Dayot doused coach Kompany before he joined his family on the sideline.
"I'd say today it's OK to celebrate a little," midfielder Joshua Kimmich said. "Then we have a week and then we'll be fully focused on the cup final."
German Cup Final Ahead
Bayern faces defending champion Stuttgart in the German Cup final at Berlin's Olympiastadion next Saturday.
