Newcastle 3-1 West Ham
Will Osula scored twice as Newcastle defeated West Ham 3-1 at St James' Park on Sunday, leaving the Hammers on the brink of Premier League relegation.
Danish striker Osula struck either side of half-time after record signing Nick Woltemade had opened the scoring with his first league goal since December.
Substitute Taty Castellanos pulled one back with a spectacular finish for West Ham, who hit the crossbar late on, but the visitors could not mount a comeback.
The result leaves West Ham facing relegation on Tuesday if Tottenham win at Chelsea. A draw at Stamford Bridge would effectively send them down due to their significantly inferior goal difference.
Match Summary
The Magpies dominated the first half, with Harvey Barnes picking off goalkeeper Mads Hermansen's pass to set up Woltemade for the opener in the 15th minute.
Osula doubled the lead four minutes later, finishing neatly after a fine team move involving Kieran Trippier, Barnes, Bruno Guimarães and Jacob Ramsey.
West Ham improved after the break, with Castellanos curling a superb volley to reduce the deficit on 71 minutes.
Osula completed his brace 11 minutes later, tapping in Joe Willock's cross to seal victory.
The visitors pressed late Castellanos hit the crossbar, but Newcastle held on for a comfortable win.
