Alphonso Davies is set for another spell on the sidelines after suffering a thigh muscle tear in Bayern Munich's 6-1 Champions League victory over Atalanta on Tuesday.
Injury Details
The 25-year-old Canadian left-back, who started the second half, assisted on Michael Olise's goal in the 64th minute before collapsing in pain near midfield minutes later and being forced to exit the match.
Bayern has not provided a recovery timeline for the injury. This marks the latest setback in what has been a frustrating campaign for the Edmonton product.
Recent Injury History
Davies had just returned to action on Tuesday—his first appearance since suffering a hamstring injury during a 3-2 win over Eintracht on Feb. 21. That issue had kept him out for two weeks.
Tuesday's match was Davies' 13th appearance across all competitions this season. He made his season debut in December after recovering from an ACL injury sustained on international duty last spring.
International Window in Doubt
The injury casts serious doubt on Canada captain Davies' availability for the upcoming international friendlies against Iceland and Tunisia at Toronto's BMO Field on March 28 and 31.
Other Bayern Injuries
Bayern dealt with additional injury concerns against Atalanta: goalkeeper Jonas Urbig is sidelined with a concussion, while forward Jamal Musiala aggravated an ankle injury originally incurred last summer.
Bundesliga Standings
Bayern remains atop the Bundesliga table with 66 points—an 11-point cushion over second-place Borussia Dortmund. Vincent Kompany's side visits Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
