Lille overwhelmed its northern rival Lens 3-0 on Saturday, dealing a significant blow to the Ligue 1 title race.
The match at Stade Pierre-Mauroy was paused momentarily in the 35th minute after the referee urged Lille supporters to cease discriminatory chants directed at opposing players.
PSG holds ideal position to retain its league crown after beating Toulouse 3-1 a day earlier, extending its lead to four points. The champions hold a game in hand over second-placed Lens.
Lille's dominant victory
Hákón Haraldsson opened the scoring before halftime, finishing a swift counterattack initiated by captain Aïssa Mandi's long, precise pass. Fernandez-Pardo burst down the left flank and delivered the ball to the unmarked Haraldsson at the far post.
A defensive mix-up gifted Lille its second goal in the 50th minute. Matthieu Udol's errant back pass was intercepted by Nidal Celik, whose clearance fell to Felix Correia. The Portuguese winger beat goalkeeper Robin Risser to the ball and slotted into an empty net.
A handball in the box gave Lens a penalty opportunity, but Fernandez-Pardo converted from the spot to complete the scoring and seal Lens's fate.
Strasbourg stretches unbeaten run to 10 matches
Strasbourg defeated Nice 3-1 to maintain its unbeaten run across all competitions, keeping hopes alive for a European place.
Joaquín Panichelli suffered a torn right ACL during training with Argentina last week and underwent surgery Thursday. The league leader with 16 goals will miss the World Cup and possibly the start of next season.
Martial Godo broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, curling a header into the far corner after hitting the crossbar moments earlier. Midfielders Julio Enciso and Samir El-Mourabet added goals before halftime, the latter striking a stunning half-volley from distance.
Enciso doubled his tally early in the second half, rounding the Nice goalkeeper before celebrating with a jersey honoring Panichelli.
Antoine Mendy scored a consolation goal for Nice in the 82nd minute. The teams will reconvene in the French Cup semifinals on April 22.

Junior Dina Ebimbe netted a brace for Brest, but it proved insufficient as Rennes secured all three points in this spectacular Breton encounter.
