Maple Leafs Assistant GM Brandon Pridham Parts Ways After 12 Years

Brandon Pridham, assistant general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the club have mutually agreed to part ways, the team announced Sunday.

Derek Clancey, assistant general manager for player personnel, will also leave the organization.

Pridham joined the Leafs in 2014 from the NHL league office and became one of the league’s leading salary‑cap experts, shaping the team’s cap strategy for the past 12 years.

Brandon has played an integral role in the organization over the past 12 seasons,” said new general manager John Chayka in a news release.

“We are sincerely appreciative of Brandon’s professionalism, commitment and dedication to the Maple Leafs throughout his tenure. Derek also brought valuable experience and insight to our hockey operations department during his time with the club. We thank both Brandon and Derek for their contributions and wish them and their families all the very best moving forward.”

The departures follow a series of changes made by the Leafs this spring under John Chayka and new senior executive advisor Mats Sundin. Earlier this week, head coach Craig Berube was dismissed after two seasons.

Toronto finished the 2024‑25 season with a 32‑36‑14 record, falling 30 points short of its 108‑point total from the previous campaign and missing the playoffs for the first time in nine years.
