Jack Grealish's push to make Thomas Tuchel's World Cup roster might be over. The England winger incurred a stress fracture in his foot and could miss months of action, rather than weeks.
Grealish, 30, played the entirety of Everton's 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday. On loan from Manchester City, the Villa youth product has two goals and six assists in 20 league appearances for the Toffees this season.
After falling down the pecking order at the Etihad, Grealish hoped that a move away could reignite his international career. Formerly a regular under Gareth Southgate, having appeared at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Birmingham native has not appeared for the Three Lions since 2024.
GreAlish expects to consult with a specialist in the coming days with a prognosis becoming clearer.
Next fixture: The Toffees return to action on Monday when they host 16th-place Leeds.
