Manchester City cut Arsenal's lead to just two points after a dominant 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.
The win keeps the Premier League title race alive with two rounds remaining. Arsenal will now have to wait at least another week to be confirmed champions.
Title Race Still in the Balance
Mikel Arteta's team plays relegated Burnley on Monday. A victory would leave City needing to beat Bournemouth 24 hours later to take the title race into the final day of the season.
"We've seen a lot of things can happen on the final day," City forward Phil Foden told Sky Sports. "I've experienced it many times when the game doesn't go your way, so we just have to keep pushing and doing our part."
Match Details
City made six changes to their lineup with the FA Cup final against Chelsea in mind. Even without Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki and Jeremy Doku, City won comfortably.
Antoine Semenyo opened the scoring after 32 minutes, capitalizing on a Foden backheel pass. Omar Marmoush added the second eight minutes later, also set up by Foden. Savinho completed the scoring in the 84th minute.
Significance of the Win
The margin of victory proved crucial as City moved ahead of Arsenal on goal difference. Pep Guardiola is now targeting his seventh league title at the club.
"Unfortunately it's not in our hands," Guardiola said. "It's not easy, but it's important that we are there. This group of players are all extraordinary."
