The Colorado Rockies recalled left-handed pitcher Sammy Peralta from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, May 15, 2026.
Peralta will provide the bullpen with a fresh arm after starter Chase Dollander was forced to exit his start Thursday in Pittsburgh due to an elbow injury. The southpaw previously joined the Rockies in April but did not appear in a game during that stint.
With Albuquerque, Peralta posted a 3.79 ERA and recorded 14 strikeouts against five walks over 19 innings this season.
Additional Rockies Roster Moves
Chase Dollander was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday with a right elbow sprain. He sustained the injury during the second inning of Thursday's start against the Pirates. The nature of the sprain suggests possible ligament damage, and even if surgery is avoided, an extended absence is expected.
Tyler Freeman was placed on paternity leave Friday, requiring him to miss the next one to three games. Outfielder Sterlin Thompson was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque to replace Freeman on the roster.
Thompson, 24, is batting .344 with a .491 on-base percentage and .496 slugging percentage at Albuquerque this season, with four home runs and eight stolen bases. He primarily plays corner outfield but can also handle second and third base. This marks his first major-league promotion.
